Program and Publicity Coordinator

Pay Type: Salaried, Exempt, Full Time, 40+ hours/week

Salary:
Commensurate with Experience and Education

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and some evenings as required.

Position Overview:
The Program and Publicity Coordinator oversees all programming and event publicity for The Rothko Chapel.  This position will work closely with the Board of Directors Programming Committee to determine programming content, will coordinate all event logistics, will oversee program budget in collaboration with Executive Director, will coordinate all event publicity including press releases, web promotion, advertising, printed materials, email alerts, etc. 
This position requires working some evenings and weekends as program schedule determines.
Manages event volunteers.  Reports to the Executive Director. 

Job Functions:
Program Coordination
Work with Board Committee to generate programming ideas
Provide background research on possible speakers and performers
Coordinate contact with presenters, oversee communication with presenters, and manage contracts.
Coordinate presenter logistics including travel, hospitality, receptions
Coordinate event logistics with Operations Coordinator including audio/visual, chapel set-up, seating
Oversee volunteers and logistics for all post-event receptions
Work with collaborating organizations on events they are proposing for the Chapel.
Work with Board and other staff to manage programming expenditures.
Program
Publicity
Develop and implement a promotion plan for each event that includes relevant media outlet, web promotion, email alerts, advertising, etc.
Maintain event listings on Chapel website and local event sites,
Coordinate design, printing and mailing of all event publicity materials,
Chapel Publicity
Work with Executive Director and other staff to develop media and public relations campaign for Chapel, including programming events.
Attend all-staff meetings and events.
Adhere to policies and procedures of the organization.
Represent the Chapel and embody its core values.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements:
The job requires a college degree and competency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in journalism, public relations, event management, website management, and graphic design preferred.
