Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing

Rev. Hannah E. Atkins, Christian Tradition
Suggested donation $10

Through the unique blending of mindful meditation practices, guided imagery, centering prayer, and lectio divina used throughout her two decades as an Episcopal Church leader, The Rev. Hannah Elizabeth Atkins invites participants of all faiths into an hour of reinvigorating connectedness with the Indwelling Trinity. Moving from gentle stretching, intentional breathing, and mindfulness practice to a guided journey of the imagination invoking light out of darkness, into focused listening to sacred text, through succinct sharing of words and phrases, participants enter into a prayerful silence of deepening friendship with God.  This gem of time counters the upheaval of the holiday pace, relaxes the body, and nourishes the soul. The Rev. Hannah E. Atkins, Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church, is a third generation Episcopal priest. The Reverend Atkins earned a bachelor of arts degree in history at Douglass College, Rutgers University and a masters degree in divinity at the General Theological Seminary in New York, with additional masters level studies in theology at Universidad Centroamericana Jesuita in El Salvador. She has served as Director of Theological and Christian Education in the Diocese of the Episcopal/Anglican Church of El Salvador. The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Rothko Chapel.
