This Saturday, April 20th, Rothko Chapel will operate on adjusted hours. The Chapel is open from 11am-12:15pm for our Earth Day program all are welcome. From 12:15pm-1:15pm, the Chapel will close for breakdown of the program. The Chapel will reopen for general visitation from 1:15pm-6pm.

This meditation introduces participants to a fundamental Buddhist practice, mindfulness of breathing. By cultivating awareness of our bodily sensations, emotions and thoughts, we can over time develop some freedom in how we respond to our life more in line with our intentions. Cathy Crouch is an assistant teacher with the Houston Zen Center. She began her meditation practice in 1975 and joined the Houston Zen community as it was forming in the late 80s. Cathy is a licensed clinical social worker and Executive Vice-President of SEARCH Homeless Services. She is a trainer in the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers and co-author of the bestselling Group Treatment for Substance Abuse: A Stages of Change Therapy Manual.The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Rothko Chapel.
