Silent Nights: A Meditation on Grief During the Holidays
In partnership with Institute for Spirituality & Health
Location: Jung Center Houston
Pay What You Can $0-25, general admission chair seating
For many, the winter holiday season was a time to come together in joy and celebration, yet it was also a time when grief and loss were felt most deeply. Co-presented by the Institute for Spirituality and Health and the Rothko Chapel, this annual event offered a safe space to hear and share stories of grief, providing the comfort of knowing that no one was alone. The goal was to become more mindful of the mental, physical, and spiritual strain that individuals and communities face during the holidays, helping people manage those stresses and find spiritual refreshment from this festive and sacred season as they moved into the new year.
The program included music, meditation, and storytelling. Presenters included Rev. Steve Thorney, Dr. John K. Graham, Virgil Fry, Don Payne, Chaplain Cynthia Johnson, and a singing bowls sound bath led by Gena Davis.
