Neighborhood Community Day with Express Children's Theatre
Art Class for Families with Frida Kahlo
Written and Directed by Tim Fried-Fiori
Pay What You Can Tickets $5 - 25 | General admission bench seating
Thanks to a crack in the artistic space/time continuum, the internationally renowned artist, Frida Kahlo, will be transported from Mexico in the 1940s to the present day to lead an art class for Houston families. Everyone will learn a little about Frida and get a chance to express themselves, too, including an opportunity to hang their work in the windows of the Rothko administrative building. Designed for kids of all ages and parents, too!
Express Children’s Theatre is Houston’s oldest and largest multicultural performing arts and education organization dedicated to children and families. We are celebrating our 34th year of creating and presenting professional, culturally diverse shows that are designed to entertain and educate.
Enjoy an afternoon of free art, music, poetry, and family activities in celebration of our vibrant neighborhood. Participating organizations include: DACAMERA, Houston Center for Photography, Inprint, The Menil Collection, Rothko Chapel, Writers in the Schools (WITS), and Watercolor Art Society.
