Benefit Art Auction Preview

In support of the Rothko Chapel’s transformative programming and community leadership, we extend an invitation to you to support the Chapel's 2024 spring fundraiser, Inspirit: Rothko Chapel’s Evening of Inspiration. We are very excited to present:

Celebrated actor, art collector, and advocate Cheech Marin,
Legendary civil rights advocate and organizer Dolores Huerta, and
Art League Houston’s 2023 Texas Artist of the Year Vincent Valdez.

They will headline the event and join in conversation about the important relationship between art and activism including their commitment to furthering interest in Chicano art and efforts to address the world’s most pressing human rights and social justice issues. Following the program, guests are welcome to continue these conversations at their table alongside dinner.

In addition to being an evening of inspiration, Inspirit is also designed to raise both funds in support of and awareness about the Chapel’s mission. There will also be an online art auction of 20 to 25 museum-quality works curated by Houstonian Robert McClain, Founder of McClain Gallery, and artist John Alexander that will be launched prior to the event. Your support affirms the importance of the Rothko Chapel and ensures that the Chapel remains open and accessible every day of the year at no charge while continuing to foster connection, dialogue, and transformative moments. We look forward to hosting you on Wednesday, March 6th and thank you for your consideration.
