Each year on December 1, communities join together to commemorate World AIDS Day, uniting to show support for people living with HIV and to remember those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses. Founded in 1988 at the United Nations, World AIDS Day was the first ever international day for global health. This year's theme is "Equalize," urging each of us to address the inequalities which are holding back progress in ending AIDS.
