Dr. Alperovitz, Lionel R. Bauman Professor of Political Economy at the University of Maryland, is co-founder of the Democracy Collaborative. He has served as a legislative director in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, and as a special assistant in the Department of State, and is widely recognized as a leading advocate and theorist in the movement to democratize wealth and build a new, more sustainable and more community-focused economy. His most recent books are What Then Must We Do? Straight Talk About the Next American Revolution and America Beyond Capitalism.
