About Kinetic Light
Kinetic Light is a groundbreaking performance collective working at the intersection of dance, disability, access, race, queerness, and technology. At the forefront of intersectional disability aesthetics and culture, the company creates work that is both artistically powerful and intentionally accessible. Their practice stems from the belief—shaped by lived experience—that true equity goes beyond inclusionary approaches or legal compliance with the ADA.
Their approach to access has been shaped by years of research, design, collaboration, and dialogue with disabled artists and communities. This deep engagement has transformed not only how they create, but how they understand their own work.
Recognizing that dance is fundamentally a kinesthetic artform—not solely a visual one—Kinetic Light reimagines the ways audiences experience performance. Through sound, light, sensation, and movement, their performances invite audiences into a richly layered world where access is integral to the art itself. With multiple entry points and modes of engagement, Kinetic Light centers and celebrates disabled audiences while welcoming people of all bodyminds and ways of being.
