Music & Poetry for Peace & Democracy Presented with Jaipur Literature Festival Houston

Music & Poetry for Peace & Democracy
Presented with Jaipur Literature Festival Houston

The community came together as we celebrated the Jaipur Literature Festival Houston with a morning of music, poetry, and reflection.

We listened to poetry from students of The Fay School and Houston Youth Poet Laureate Kaviya Dhir.

Experienced Mausiqui, a unique ensemble that brought together musicians from different worlds, each carrying their own experiences, influences, and stories, that created a cinematic vision for your ears-a visual experience that you listened to. Weaving imagery into a musical experience on stage, they ensured that every piece become a chapter, every sound a character, and together create a story that unfolded in real time.

• Camila Celin: guitarist, sarodist and composer.
• Dan Kurfirst: percussionist, composer and improviser
• Mir Naqibul Islam: tabla
• Hidayat Husain Khan: sitar

Thank you for Joining us for a memorable finale to the 19th edition of what is hailed as The Greatest Literary Show on Earth – a celebration of storytelling, dialogue, music, and the power of community.
