the Rothko Chapel and the ACLU-TX had a conversation exploring The New Americans, artist Vincent Valdez's powerful series of drawings that captures  the faces, stories, and communities of Texas and the United States. Through intimate portraits and evocative scenes, the work reflects the shared struggles, resilience, and collective spirit that define contemporary America.

Rothko Chapel Board Member Ellen Susman will moderated a thought-provoking discussion between Vincent Valdez and Lonnie Ali of the Muhammad Ali Center about the themes that run this series—identity, solidarity, resistance, and hope—revealing the enduring pulse of a struggling heart. These are The New Americans.
