Honoring the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of our board member Dolores Huerta. ️
The Rothko Chapel mourns the passing of our Board Member, Dolores Huerta, a pioneering labor leader, civil rights activist, and lifelong advocate for justice, equality, and human dignity for all.
A cherished friend and supporter of the Chapel and our mission for many decades, Huerta shared her wisdom and unwavering commitment to social change with our community on many occasions. She presented the 2013 Óscar Romero Award, participated in our 50th Anniversary Interfaith Celebration in 2021, spoke at our 2024 International Women’s Day program, and was honored alongside Cheech Marin and Vincent Valdez at our 2024 INSPIRIT Dinner.
Dolores dedicated her life to empowering others and reminding us that meaningful change is possible through courage, compassion, and collective action.
We are committed to carrying on her extraordinary legacy and advancing the values she championed throughout her remarkable life.
¡Sí, se puede!
