Four different courses offer an experience for those wanting to cultivate relaxation or deepen their concentration through contemplative exercises. Each week, participants can choose to visit one, some or all of the weekly classes, each designed to enrich awareness and mindfulness through meditation. Led by experienced teachers, these sessions strive to help center and quiet the mind.

Wednesdays 9 a.m. (Oct. 15-Nov. 19) Ann Friedman, Ph. D.
A licensed psychologist who has studied meditation intensely for the last eight years, Ann teaches concentration and mindfulness practices throughout Houston. Joseph is a lover of light, the epiphany of the everyday, and a believer in the unity of religious ideals. A long-time meditator with various teachers, he became a student of Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan in 1981. This open-ended and wide-ranging series is called Exploring Inner Space.

Thursdays, noon (Oct. 16-Nov. 20) Gayle Ross DeGeurin

Gayle has been the chair of the Rothko Chapel Board for the past seven years. She shares meditation experiences that she has gradually garnered on the way of her life.
