Twelve Moments: Experiencing Spiritual and Faith Traditions

Ginger Clarkson, Vipassana Meditation
Suggested donation $10

Join a practice focused on using compassion to create unity. Vipassana meditation involves fluid attention to what is actually occurring, both internally and externally, without trying to change, judge, or analyze it. A practitioner aims to observe consciously whatever happens, neither grasping nor rejecting any particular stimulus or experience, thereby freeing themselves from habitual responses. Ginger Clarkson is a Board Certified Music Therapist, a Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery, and a teacher of Vipassana meditation. In addition to her private practice in Houston, Texas, she trains students internationally in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). Trained as a Community Dharma Leader at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California, Ginger is the founding teacher of the Cholula Vipassana Sangha in the state of Puebla, Mexico. She now leads the Insight Meditation Houston sangha at the First Unitarian Church in Houston.  The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the Rothko Chapel.
